Description

Provide all labor, materials, supplies, tools, transportation, superintendence, services and equipment to provide upgrades to the fire protection system as well as the water service that feeds the fire protection system per the construction documents at the USPS Bulk Mail Center in Des Moines, IA. The entire three story office portion will have a wet-pipe sprinkler system provided. Portions of the mail processing area of the facility will be provided upgrades to the existing fire protection system. Major components include new distribution piping and sprinkler heads. In addition, part of this project is to revise the water service to eliminate the existing 200,000 gallon suction tank and feed the fire pumps directly off the city water main. The estimated cost range is $1,270,000 - $1,350,000. The performance period is 300 days from receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Any award made under this solicitation will be made to the responsible offeror who provides the best overall value to the Postal Service. This is NOT a sealed bid advertisement, and proposals will NOT be publicly opened. Solicitation packages will be available on or about July 5, 2005 for a NON-REFUNDABLE fee of $100 per package made payable to A&D Draft Aid. Visa and Mastercard also accepted.
