Description
Provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, facilities, transportation and supervision to complete design-build services necessary for the design and construction of Building 329 kitchen facility and the swing spaces as described herein and other specific tasks listed below as further defined by this request for proposal (RFP). The objective of this project is to design-build the renovation of the Menlo Park Dietetic Facility, Bldg 329 and the temporary swing spaces in Bldg 324, Menlo Park and Bldg 64, Livermore. Building 329 is a single-story brick building, approximately 13 feet high and 25,000 SF. This design-build renovation includes: (1) seismic upgrade of the structure; (2) Dietetic food services equipment / functionality modernization; (3) and Facility Infrastructure improvements (HVAC, electrical, and interior upgrades). This project also includes the creation of temporary swing space in Building 324 at Menlo Park and Building 64 at Livermore to enable temporary Dietetic operations while Bldg 329 is vacated for renovation and upgrade. This project also includes responsibility for the relocation of Dietetic operations (equipment and activation) from Bldg 329 to its temporary operating location to Buildings 324 and 64 and back as the project progresses. In order to reduce design and construction period for the project, the completion of the design-build for Bldg 324/64 swing space and deactivation of Bldg 329 shall be coordinated with the design completion and start of construction of Bldg 329. Magnitude of Construction: Between 5 million and 7 million dollars. Site Visit: July 13 and 14, 2005 at 10:00AM Pacific Time. Please see the solicitation for additional information. This site visit is not mandatory - but is highly encouraged. Proposal Due Date: August 2, 2005 at 2:00PM Pacific Time. The plans and specifications furnished with this solicitation are developmental in nature - and are provided for reference only. Any resultant contract will require the contractor to submit a complete design independent of the developmental plans and specifications. This solicitation is being issued on an unrestricted basis. Any interested party that possesses adequate technical capability and bonding capacity may submit an offer for consideration.
