- The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a delivery order against BOA N00019-03-G-0003 on an other than full and open competitve basis to Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation (SAC) 6900 Main Street, P.O. Box 9731, Stratford, CT 06615-9129. Sikorsky is the H-53 original equipment manufacturer and posseses the necessary technical data on the H-53 blade design. SAC will be required to assess a more erosion-resistant material for existing and future H-53 Aircraft Main Rotor Blades. This effort will include design, development, fabrication, installation, and application of test coatings on the main rotor blades to evaluate the destructive effects of wind, rain, sand and other environmental conditions.
