Description
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures with BioMicro Systems, Inc., 1290 West 2320 South, Suite D, Salt Lake City, UT 84119 for the acquisition of a MAUI 4-Bay Hybridization System and Mixer Hybridization Chamber. The minimum requirements of the system are: (1)The system shall integrate and optimize sample processing performed on microscope slide arrays; (2) Ultra-low volume active maxing chambers; (3) Sealed hybridization chamber to prevent sample evaporation during incubation; (4) Active mixing during incubation; (5) Consumable mixer hybridization chambers and a base unit. The contractor shall provide a one year warranty. The unique aspects of this system is its ability to provide mixing action and maintain a constant incubation temperature and the ultra low volume mixing chambers. No other equipment is known to have these combined capabilities. EPA believes BioMicro Systems, Inc., is the only vendor capable of satisfying the requirements stated above. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 334516, with a small business size standard of 500 employees, is applicable. The intent of this notice is to determine if any other source(s) exist, and therefore, no solicitation (RFQ) is available. Interested parties who can meet the above requirements may submit written qualifications fully explaining their capability no later than 15 days after the date of this publication. Consequently, any response failing to provide evidence of the aforementioned data and instead choosing to merely submit a routine letter requesting a copy of the RFQ will not be honored. Submit response to US EPA, Attn: Jennifer Hill (D143-01), RTP Procurement Operations Division, Research Triangle Park, NC 27711. No telephonic or faxed request will be honored.
