- NASA/LaRC has a requirement for a Prototype Single Board Computer, PowerPC Architecture, Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) CPUs for enhanced reliability, 256 MB SDRAM, 64 MB FLASH RAM with Error Correction Code (ECC), 6U cPCI Form Factor, Mil Std 1553B Bus Interface, 1 or more Power PC Mezzanine (PMC) Slots for Development/Debugging, VxWorks Support, Migration Path from Prototype/Engineering Model to Flight Module with the following radiation characteristics: Total Dose >= 100Krad, Latch-Up Immunity, and SEU <= 1/300 years. This action is taken in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b). NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from Maxwell Technologies as the only known reasonable source who can meet the agency's needs. The Government requires a Single Board Computer (SBC) with both the most current state-of-the-art technologies and the requirements for radiation hardening and testing to "space-qualify" the SBC. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on July 19, 2005. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
