Description

The U.S. Geological Survey, Regional GIO, intends to acquire digital orthophotography on a sole source basis from the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission (SEWRPC), Waukesha, Wisconsin. The USGS is reacting to a DOD National Geospatial Agency (NGA) request for current orthorectified images to support Homeland Security. A requirement of the imagery is that it be less than 2 years old. The SEWRPC is uniquely positioned to provide current and complete high resolution orthoimagery and related metadata for a 7 county area that will meet the requirement of being less than 2 years old. A component of the Geography Discipline's plan for The National Map is to develop long-term partnerships. SEWRPC with its history of producing digital imagery, desires to become a long term partner for this data. It is in the interest of USGS and the Homeland Security program to continue working with SEWRPC. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. NO FORMAL RFQ WILL BE AVAILABLE. The anticipated award date is 07/16/2005, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 13.5. The NAICS code is 925120. FSC (P&S) Code is 7644.
