Description
PURPOSE OF THIS AMENDMENT IS TO EXTENDED THE PROPOSAL SUBMISSION DATE AND SPECIFY THE TYPE OF WASHERS. A. PROPOSAL SUBMISSION DATE HAS BEEN EXTENDED FROM 7 JULY 2005; 12:00 PDT TO 20 JULY 2005; 12:00 PDT. B. ADD TO THE BEGINNING PARAGRAPH 1.2.1 OF THE PWS: 'CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL 'ENERGY STAR' FRONT LOAD ULTRA-LOW CONSUMPTION WASHERS DESIGNED TO USE A MAXIMUM OF 28 GALLONS OF WATER DURING EVERY COMPLETE CYCLE. C. REPLACE PAGE 2 OF PWS PARA 1.2.1; AS READS 'OPERATE ON A 3-PHASE, 110 VOLT'; REPLACE WITH PAGE 2 OF PWS DATED 6 JULY 2005 TO READ 'OPERATE ON A SINGLE-PHASE, 110 VOLT'. D. REPLACE PAGE 4 OF PWS PARA 1.2.1; AS READS 'OPERATE ON A 3-PHASE, 110 VOLT'; R EPLACE WITH PAGE 4 OF PWS DATED 6 JULY 2005 TO READ 'OPERATE ON A SINGLE-PHASE, 110 VOLT'. E. ALL OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS REMAINS UNCHANGED PERFORMANCE WORK STATEMENT FOR WASHERS AND DRYERS RENTAL SERVICES FOR PRESIDIO OF MONTEREY AND ORD MILITARY COMMUNITY 1. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES. 1.1 Contractor shall furnish all non-coin operated, commercial washers and dryers on a rental basis necessary to perform all work requirements in accordance with the terms and conditions of this contract. Contractor shall furnish all plant, labor, materia l, transportation, and equipment necessary to install, maintain, repair, and relocate contractor-owned washers and dryers. Contractor shall clean vent ducts and exhaust fans for all laundry rooms, replace gas supply lines, and hot and cold washer hoses. 1.2. The Contractor shall furnish and maintain sufficient, general service-type equipment and tools, and all parts necessary to support such equipment and tools during the term of the contract. Such equipment and parts shall be subject to inspection and a pproval of the Contracting Officer or his authorized representative (COR). 1.2. MAINTAIN WASHERS. 1.2.1. Contractor shall inspect, clean, repair, or replace water hoses and strainers. Washing machines shall have not less than an eighteen (18) pound dry weight drum capacity with three cycle (heavy, regular, and delicate) washing capabilities. Washers shall be equipped with a lint-filter or automatic lint flush system and will automatically shut off when the lid is opened or by manual shut down features. Each washer shall be able to operate on a single phase, 110 volt, 60-cycle, 20-Amp electrical circu it without overloading under normal operating conditions. Each machine shall have hot, warm, and cold water temperature selectors with fabric softener and bleach dispensers. Machines with coin slots must be fixed to allow free-operation of machine. Was h ers shall be stabilized and leveled in such a manner as to prevent noise and vibration. Washer machines shall not be grounded to water supply lines or drain line pipes but properly grounded to prevent electrical shock. 1.2.2. Contractor shall ensure that inoperable machines are repaired, replaced or changed out within forty-eight (48) hours after notification of the deficiency. Contractor shall notify the building manager and the COR when repairs will be accomplished. Page 3 remains unchanged. compression fitting. Dryers shall be equipped with a lint-filter and shall be inspected to ensure continuous operation. Flexi ble gas supply lines, adapters, connectors, couplings, and fittings shall be furnished and replaced by contractor as necessary. 1.3.1.1. Each dryer shall operate on a single phase, 110 volt AC, 60 HZ, 20 Amp circuit. Gas and electric dryers shall have not less than a 5.5 cubic feet capacity. Dryers shall be equipped with temperature settings for fabrics such as permanent press, normal, delicate, and air only. Machines shall have timer capabilities for the desired fabric. Contractor shall ensure lint screens are installed in each dryer. Dryers shall be stabilized and leveled to prevent noise and vibration and be properly grounded to prevent electrical shock. 1.3.1.2. Contractor shall ensure that inoperable machines are repaired, replaced or changed out within forty-eight (48) hours after notification of the deficiency. Contractor shall provide to the Contracting Officer and the COR a list of buildings where dryers will be installed, the number installed, and a numeric accountability of each appliance with model and serial numbers in each location. 1.3.1.5. Contractor shall be given a thirty calendar-day phase-in period to install, connect and make fully operational all machines listed in TE-3. The contractor will submit a written time line schedule to the COR what days appliance will be installed in each facility. When machines are added, removed, or relocated, the model, serial, and machine numbers of each machine will be furnished to the Contracting Officer and COR for updating existing washer and dryer list. 1.3.1.6. Upon request from the Contracting Officer or COR, the contractor shall remove dryers within the same building, from one building to another, or from an areas where contract-furnished appliances are located for the convenience of the government an d shall replace such appliances when instructed to do so by the Contracting Officer or contracting office representative at no additional cost to the government. 1.3.1.7. Utilities such as electricity, gas supply, and shut off valves for each appliance will be provided and maintained by the Government. Utility outlets such as electrical receptacles and gas supply service shall be accessible by installing ample l ength flex gas supply lines attached to each machine. Contractor shall not be permitted to modify TECHNICAL EXHIBIT A: EXHAUST VENT AIR DUCTS There are nineteen (19) buildings that have main air ducts within their laundry rooms. Those buildings are liste d below: BUILDINGS: 622;627;626;630;645;646;647;648;649;650;651;652;831;832;833;835;836;840;841 WALL VENT Only Building 366 has the wall vents and wall vent grill that is addressed in paragraph 5.2.2.5.
