- Description
- The Bureau of Reclamation intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Brackett Green USA, Inc. who designs and manufactures the Hydro Bosker Raking Machine trash rack system. The proposed action is for the purchase of a system that has a rake that has an 8 foot minimum width raking head due to the continuous and rapid influx of moss, a rake head that has a hydraulic cylinder grapper or closing jaw type head to give a positive hold on the moss being removed, a bottom bar system on the rake head that integrates or rides below the surface of the trash rack in it's cleaning sweep to eliminate moss from being pushed into the rack and becoming entangled, a rake head that cleans on the downward pass to ensure all material on the rack in the pass of the rake head is removed, a raking system that can be used in a manual mode or run in an automatic mode, a raking system that transports the removed material to a collection point. Reclamation requires the system to be designed to meet the Toppenish Satus Fish Screening site and be able to be purchased as a complete raking head system with all control systems and trolley tracking system. The Hydro Bosker Raking machine designed and fabricated by Brackett Green USA, Inc. is the machine that meets these basic raking needs of this site. The integrated bottom bar of the rake head with the trash rack and the downward cleaning pass are patented by this company. The government believes that only one responsible source can provide the services listed above that will satisfy the agency needs. Any firm or individual that believes it can furnish the items described are encouraged to give written notification to the Contracting Officer. Supporting evidence must be furnished, in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. All responses received by close of business July 18, 2005 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
