- Description
- The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport RI intends to award a contract with firm fixed price provisions under FAR parts 12 and 13 procedures (commercial items; simplified acquisition procedures), with the solicitation being issued in less than 15 days per FAR 5.203(a) and (h). Procurement is for two prototype Inboard Power Supply (IPS) steady-state transformers, modified to correct deficiencies that have been noted. Potential offerors will be provided with the IPS specification and the IPS Power EQT Deficiency Descriptions (the currently deficient IPS transformer drawings are also available for informational purposes only). There is also an option for 28 additional, modified transformers, which may be exercised if the prototypes fix the deficiencies. Prototype units are required 90 days after order placement; option qty is due 300 days after option exercise (if exercised). Delivery is to NUWC Division Newport, Newport, RI. Award is on a best value basis, with evaluation criteria being technical capability (describing the approach to be taken to fix the noted deficiencies), past performance, and price. Anticipated RFQ release date: 14 JUL 2005. This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil.
