- The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate a sole-source, firm-fixed price contract under commercial item acquisition procedures with Audio Processing Technology, Belfast BT3 9JQ, Northern Ireland under RFQ 857298. This notice will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) Website (www.fedbizopps.gov). Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the FBO site to ensure they have the most up-to-date information about this acquisition. Audio Processing Technology is to provide the following items: 1) World Net Duo Audio Codec - Total Quantity ? 30. Based on the market research conducted and contacts made with knowledgeable individuals within the government and the related-industry, it has been determined the FBI?s requirement for the above-listed items can only be provided by Audio Processing Technology. The known requirement will be used in two-way radio systems and to convert the radio system analog audio to/from a digital bit stream for transmission into the circuits and/or digital microwave. Testing and research has been conducted to conclude the apt-X code, available in the required World Net Duo Audio Codec, best meets the FBI needs for technology and compatibility standards associated with present audio equipment. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit quotes to this office by 2:00PM, EST, Tuesday, July 26, 2005, via facsimile to the attention of Renee L. Braun, Contracting Officer, at (703) 632-1844. Information received will be solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The North American Industrial Classification System Number is 443112 and the size standard is 500 employees. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Parts 12 and 13.5. The awardee must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database.
