Description

The US Army Aviation and Missile Life Cycle Management Command (AMCOM), intends to issue Request for Proposal (RFP) W58RGZ-05-R-0519 for the Armys Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) program. AMCOM anticipates procuring 322 Light Utility Helicopters (LU Hs) for the purpose of executing missions related to Homeland Security (HLS), civil search and rescue operations, damage assessment support, test and training center support, Generating Force Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC), and Continental United States (CON US) counter-drug operations support. The LUH will be a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certified Commercial / Non-Developmental Item (NDI) aircraft. The LUH will be fielded to multiple CONUS and other US Territory locations. The LUH will replace th e UH-60A MEDEVAC, OH-58A/C, and UH-1 aircraft currently performing the LUH missions. Additionally AMCOM anticipates procuring Contractor Logistics Support (CLS), Training, and Engineering Services. The RFP will include 10 years of option requirements for aircraft and services. The draft request for proposal was issued under solicitation number W58RGZ-05-R-0004. The Government intends to release the RFP no earlier than July 26, 2005.
