- Description
- This project will contain 3 alternates for construction. The dikes will be raised approximately 7, 8, or 9 feet above the crest of the existing dikes depending on availability of funds at the time of award. The project consists of raising the dike s of the existing disposal area, West Bartram Island, to increase capacity for future dredging of the Jacksonville Harbor. All work will be performed to the interior, leaving the existing crest of the dike as a bench. Associated with the dike raising wil l be the replacement of 3 existing weirs with 5 new weirs. A cross dike, defining a no discharge cell , will also be raised and a flap gated culvert will be replaced. All dikes, including the cross dike, will have a 10 foot crest width and 1 vertical on 3 horizontal side slopes. Material for the construction of the dike will come from the interior of the disposal area. This solicitation will be issued on or about 26 July 2005 and open on or about 25 August 2005. The solicitation will be posted on our website. Any interested bidders must register electronically. If you are not registered, the government is not responsible for providing you with notifications of any changes to this solicitation. Magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000.00 and $ 5,000,000.00. Depending on which alternate is awarded the performance period will be as follows: 180 Calendar Days for 7 Feet, 200 Calendar Days for 8 Feet or 220 Calendar Days for 9 Feet.
