Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Acquisition Management Division, on behalf of the Electron and Optical Physics Division, intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 13.106(1) (b), with Gamma Vacuum, LLC of Shakopee, Minnesota, for the following items: (1) Part number: 600L-DI-8D-SC-220-TSPC, 600L Ion Pump with: TiTan DI Elements (480 l/s), Double 8" CFF, SAFECONN Feed through, 220v Heater Kit (installed), TSP and Cryoshroud (installed), (2) Part number: 400L-DI-8D-SC-220-TSPC, 400L Ion Pump with: TiTan DI Elements (320 l/s), Double 8" CFF Top/ Bottom, SAFECONN Feed through, 220v Heater Kit (installed), with TSP & Cryo Shroud Installed, (3) Part number: MPC-2-US220-232-N-TSP1, DIGITEL MPC with: HV Supply One: 500-POS-7KV-K1, HV Supply Two: 500-POS-7KV-K1, Remote TSP Controller included, (4) Part number: 380048 A, Rev: A, HV Cable SAFECONN, SC/SC 10m, (5) Part number: 380080 HV Cable SAFECONN, SC/SC, 15m, and (6) Part number: 380049 A, TSP/NEG Control Cable, 3m. . ****This notice of intent is based on market research that leads NIST to believe that only Gamma Vacuum can provide the item noted above that are compatible with existing equipment at NIST. This compatibility is required so that the pumps and controllers can be interchanged with existing pumps and controllers during emergency conditions to maintain vacuum in critical experiments.**** The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 339111, and the size standard is 500 employees. ****No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, parties authorized by Agilent Technologies that can provide the service agreement noted above may respond to this notice to indicate that they can provide it. Such notice shall be provided by July 18, 2005. The Government will then determine whether this procurement can be competed. A determination by the Government whether to compete the proposed acquisition will be based upon responses to this notice.
