Description
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have a requirement for Drydock Repairs to the NOAA Ship Nancy Foster to be performed at the contractor?s facility starting November 1, 2005. Performance period to commence on or about September 15, 2005 and shall be completed on or before January 10, 2006, (118 calendar days). The period between contract award and ship arrival at the contractor?s facility is to be utilized for design work and fabrication of a new A-Frame and to accomplish other design work related to the multi-beam sonar and mission equipment. Basic contract items are Drydocking and routine drydock work, temporary services, hull preservation, propeller shaft inspection, rudder inspection, bilge and ballast keel installation, a frame installation, optional items include multi-beam sonar and mission equip, navigation sonar system installation, sacrificial anode replacements, deck tie down mods, maintenance system (AMOS), sea valve maintenance, Z drive inspection, misc. steel repairs, hull survey, ventilation cleaning, rescue boat falls renewal, bow thruster inspection, gage calibration, misc piping, uncontaminated SW system installation, and anchor chain inspection. NOAA Ship Nancy Foster?s homeport is Pier ?PaPa?, former Charleston Naval Base, Charleston, SC. The ship will be available for inspection on 15-16 August 2005 in Key West, FL. Appointments and arrangements for the inspection may be made by contacting the COTR at jamie.a.lecompte@noaa.gov. Drawings, pictures and detailed specifications will be provided as a part of the solicitation. Characteristics of the NOAA Ship Nancy Foster: Length Overall ? 186 feet ? 6 inches; Length Between Perpendiculars: 176 ft.- 7 in.; Beam (Molded) ? 40 feet ? 0 inches; Depth Molded, to Main Deck ? 16 ft. ? 0 in., Draft, Design ? 10 ft. ? 6 in., Displacement, Full Load ? 1,300 Tons. This is a 100% small business set-aside and the requirement will be issued as a Request for Proposals (RFP). All responsible small business sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the agency. To be eligible for award, all offerors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and complete the online Certifications and Representations at http://orca.bpn.gov/publicsearch. Contractors must have registered at Dun and Bradstreet and have a valid DUNS number. Copies of the solicitation will only be available on line. All interested businesses shall download the solicitation after 7/27/05.
