Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source firm fixed priced purchase order to HCUP Central Distributor Social & Scientific Systems, Inc 8757 Georgia Avenue, 12th Floor Silver Springs, MD 20910. Data organizations participating in the Healthcare Cost and Utilization Data Project (HCUP) have agreed to release their State Inpatient Databases (SID) through a Central Distributor under the auspices of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). This uniform application was designed by the participating data organizations. The information is not for AHRQ or the HCUP Central Distributor. AHRQ and the HCUP Central Distributor are facilitating access to the SID which is owned and regulated by the individual data organizations participating in HCUP. Data in SID is in uniform HCUP format that is consistent across all states and years of HCUP data. The data is available only from data organizations participating in HCUP, therefore, no other sources could meet this requirement. The proposed contract action is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302-3. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
