- REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL The South Bronx Academy is a 501c3 federally funded Vocational and Educational Training Program that services youth between the ages of sixteen (16 and twenty-four (24) in a residential setting. The program operates year round with approximately 200 residential and 100 non-residential trainees at the South Bronx Job Corps Academy; located at 1771 Andrews Avenue Bronx, NY 10453. This program is run by ResCare, Inc. for the United States Department of Labor. ResCare is soliciting Bids for the upgrade of the existing fire alarm system at for the South Bronx Job Corps Academy. Our complex consists of two adjoining buildings. Building 1 is the Administrative and Academic/Vocational Classes. Building 2 is the residential living, auditorium and gym. The basement is equipped with a sprinkler system not tied into the fire department. Both buildings have 5 levels. Existing system is a Silent Knight Model #5820XL intelli-knight. We would like to expand the existing fire alarm smoke detection system and provide automatic detection devices in all occupied, common, and work areas to comply with all NYC Fire codes and the latest edition of the National Fire Protection Association?s Life Safety Code (NFPA72). This work shall be performed by a Qualified NYC licensed fire alarm contractor Must have proper fire alarm insurance NYS license to install and maintain fire alarm smoke detection system Minimum N.I.C.E.T. level 2 fire alarm technician Must be installed by a NYC licensed electrical contractor Must have 24 hour service Prevailing wagers Interested parties are encouraged to visit the site and familiarize themselves with the surroundings.
