Description
Posted below are the responses to questions that were submitted by the cutoff date of 8 July 2005. 30th Contracting Squadron & Civil Engineering representatives were present for site visit. The following contractors were present for the site visit: DMS Electric Onsite Construction Inc. MG Mako 1. Is there a wage determination on this project or are we suppose to look up the latest and greatest wage decisions for VAFB? Yes, the wage determination would be based on number 94-2063 REV (26) under the Register of Wage Determinations for the Service Contract Act. 2. The solicitation states, "The Government reserves the right to award on a multiple award or an all or none basis". However, based on the pre-proposal site visit, I cannot see how the work could be separated into parts to be awarded to separate contractors. We intend to quote a price for the entire project work. If this is not acceptable, please provide a pricing list of how the Government may award the separate scope of work items? Please provide your quotes for the entire project. 3. Is there a specific government form, on which we should submit our quote? If so, please provide a copy or give an Internet reference where it could be downloaded. No, there is not a specific government form for bidders. A formal quote from your company, on your company letterhead, with a breakdown of costs is sufficient for submittal. Please remember to submit your quote by 14 July 2005 no later than 2 p.m. PST. 4. What if the footage (canon crossing distance) is not what the scope of work is? If the footage is not the same as the scope of work, the contract will have to modified at that time. In order to promote bidding on a fair basis for all, please submit bids based on the footage described in the scope of work, cross canyon distance, 1205 feet, 3615 linear feet. 5. When would the period of performance begin? The period of performance will begin as soon as possible. 6. My suppliers cannot seem to find 195.7 "Greased Filled" Wire anywhere. Can we substitute standard 195.7 wire? No, no substitutes for the greased filled wire. 7. Is there only (6) Insulators we are replacing or are we replacing (12) or (18) insulators? Only 6 insulators will need to be replaced. The six being the ones that are directly supporting the wire across the canyon. The solicitation specifies that the insulators must be the polymer type, not ceramic. 8. Is there a bid bond required at bid time? No, there is no bid bind required at bid time. All quotes must be sent to Vanessa L. Lechon at : Fax 805-606-5867; vanessa.lechon@vandenberg.af.mil 30 CONS bldg 7015 Vandenberg AFB CA 93437 Quotes are required to be received no later than 2:00 PM CST, 14 July 2005. Quotes are valid for 60 days from the date of submission. All other terms and conditions for this combined solicitation remain the same.
