Description
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, intends to award a multi-year contract for gatewell modifications to improve fish guidance efficiency at Bonneville Second Powerhouse located on the Washington side of the Columbia River. The powe rhouse has a total of eight units and each unit contains three gatewell slots for a total of 24 gate well slots. Six units (18 gatewells) will require full modifications and 2 units (6 gatewells) will require partial modifications. The contract will be s pread over 3 years with a minimum of two units modified each year. The on-site work is primarily located in the gatewell slots that are approximately six-feet wide by 23-feet long and 70-feet deep. The modification work includes offsite fabrication work and onsite construction. The offsite fabrication work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following miscellaneous metals features; gap closure devices, turning vanes, guide slot assemblies, and vertical barrier screens. The onsite constructi on work includes, but is not necessarily limited to, concrete removal and concrete placement, installation of the miscellaneous metal features, providing a rinse water system, and providing instrumentation (pressure transducers). The estimated cost range of the specified work is between $10,000,000 and $20,000,000. Invitation for Bid will be available on or about August 2, 2005 with a tentative bid opening on or about September 1, 2005. The contact is anticipated to be awarded in September or October 2005 and has a total contract period of approximately three years. All on-site work will be subject to the In-Water-Work timing restrictions. This procurement is open to both small and large business concerns.
