Description

General: The National Park Service, Department of Interior, is soliciting proposals for construction firms having the capability to perform the work described below. The point of contact for this solicitation is Edward L. Tafoya, Contracting Officer, National Park Service, 12795 W. Alameda Parkway, Lakewood, Colorado 80228. This solicitation will be issued electronically, on the Department of Interior's National Business Center (NBC) web site, at http://ideasec.nbc.gov Paper copies of this solicitation will not be made available. Responses will be due approximately 30 days following issuance of solicitation. Search by referencing the solicitation number (N6020050907), Department of the Interior, National Park Service. Individual requests for solicitation packages will NOT be accepted. Prospective offerors desiring to conduct business with DOI are requested to register at the National Business Center. All vendors should pre-register to save time, by logging onto the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) at the Internet site at http://www.ccr.gov. Proposal documents will be available in Microsoft Word, HTML and Adobe PDF, Specifications will be available in Adobe PDF format, and drawings will be available in TIFF format. " Proposed Solicitation Issue Date: July 27, 2005 " Title of Project: Installation of Fixed Traffic Barrier Bollards, Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, St. Louis, Missouri. " Solicitation Number N6020050907. " The NAICS code for this project is 238110 and the small business size standard is $12 million. " Description: The National Park Service requires a firm, fixed-price construction contract to furnish all labor, materials, equipment and expertise necessary to perform all operations required for the successful completion of the above named project. The project is located at the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial along the Mississippi River in downtown St. Louis, Missouri. Description of construction project: The work of this contract consists of the general construction of a fixed bollard system around a majority of the perimeter of the project site. The fixed traffic bollard system employs design parameters established by the Department of State. The bollard system consists of 10-inch diameter steel piping encased in a continuous reinforced concrete foundation system. Each steel bollard will be encased in a custom fabricated, decorative aluminum sleeve. The total length of the bollard system is approximately 3,800 feet, containing approximately 750 bollards. " Type of Procurement: A negotiated firm-fixed price contract will be awarded requiring submission of both a technical and a price proposal. The government will consider an offeror's technical capability in comparison to its price. " Estimated price range, $2,000,000 to $4,000,000. " Time for completion, Project must be completed by June 15, 2006. " Proposal receipt date is approximately 8/26/2005; actual date will be established at the time proposal documents are available. " All responsible sources may submit an offer that will be considered. Responses from offerors will be accepted at the address listed in the solicitation in hard copy with the manual signature of the authorized company official. Facsimile offers shall NOT be accepted.
