Description
THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR LASER number 4200117578. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions raised concerning the specificaitons for the laser. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on [ENTER DATE]. Documents related to this procurement are available over the Internet. These documents reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. The Internet site, or URL, for the NASA/MSFC Business Opportunities home page is http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=D&pin=62 Amendment of Solicitation # 4200117578 Posted July 11, 2005 General Information: Unchanged. Contracting Officer Address: Unchanged. Additoinal End item Description: The item is a Nd:YAG laser operating at 1064nm wavelength and producing a highly circular multimode beam profile. The maximum continuous wave (CW) beam power must be 200 Watts and variable in intensity from 50 to 200 Watts. The beam diameter should be no larger than 2.5 mm with a beam divergence no greater than 8 milliradians. Beam polarization should be random. Diode optical pumping shall be used. There are no requirements for bandwidth or computer control. This device shall include a: Helium-Neon pointing laser; dust enclosure to keep contaminants out of the laser optics; and fixed ratio beam expander. The power consumption of the laser is to be no greater than 3kW and will use water as the means of heat rejection. A refrigerated chiller is not to be included. Electrical power requirements shall be 220VAC, 1-phase @ 60 Hz, 20A. The power supply dimensions shall be no greater than 75?H x 62?W x 62?D. Actively, light-controlled power-stabilized package capable of keeping the output power of the laser within 0.5% tolerance from 25% (50W) to 100% power setting (200W). Factory integrated power stabilization hardware. A manufacturer not offering a completely integrated package would require NASA to design and build components to fully integrate the control package affecting project scheduling and cost. Following are questions received related to subject solicitation and the answers to each one: Questions: / Answers: 1) What [is the] wavelength 1064nm 2) What is the range of power; high and low From 50 Watts to 200 Watts 3) Is there a bandwidth requirement No 4) Is this a multi-line source or single line Single line source 5) Does the application require single frequency No 6) Is computer control required and w/ what interface Not required 7) Is this [laser]water-cooled or air-cooled Water-cooled 8) How big does the system need to be See data above
