Description

This project is for the reconstruction of several segments of Forest Service Road #20 (Mountain Loop Road) which were washed out in the 2003 November flood event. Work includes but is not limited to construction staking, clearing & grubbing, excavation & embankment, culvert installation, placement of riprap, concrete bridge construction & associated bridgework (including asphalt paving), reconditioning of the roadbed, placement of crushed aggregate, seeding & mulching. Estimated issue date of this solicitation is on or about July 29, 2005. Estimated start work date is approx mid September 2005. Contract work time is approx 180 days. The Governments estimated price range is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This project is 100% set-aside for HubZone contractors. However both HubZone and non-HubZone firms are encouraged to submit pricing for this project. In the event that there are no offers received from HubZone Firms or all offers received from HubZone firms are more than 20 percent above the Government estimate and the Contracting Officer considers their pricing outside of the range considered fair and reasonable, the Contracting Officer may evaluate the non-HubZone firms bids for award of this contract. Award of this contract will be based upon best value to the Government. Contractors are encouraged to register on the Interested Vendors list on this website.
