Description

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) intends to award on a sole source basis, under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (Dollar Threshold of $100,000) a firm fixed price award to Weiss Ratings, Inc., 15430 Endeavour Drive, Jupiter, Florida 33478. The purpose of this award is for the contractor to provide Financial Data Related to Medicare Managed Care Contractors. The financial data will be used as part of the Medicare Advantage Group?s (MAG) financial watchlist project. Financial data related to the ability of the Medicare Advantage Organizations (MAOs) to meet their obligations to their enrollees is needed to support this project. The purpose of MAG?s Financial Watchlist Project is to predict when a MAO may be at risk for leaving the program, either because the MAO no longer complies with the state?s requirements for fiscal soundness or has unprofitable or limited Medicare beneficiary enrollment. Weiss Ratings, Inc. is uniquely qualified to provide the financial data because it does more extensive verification and confirmation of the data. Also, the GAO studies various vendors and found the ratings that Weiss develops based on the financial data it collects and verifies to be the most predictive of the ability of the rated organization to meet their enrollee obligations. All responsible sources may submit capability statements in consideration to the Agency at the above address. In addition, all potential contractors must be registered with the Central Contractors Registration System (CCR) www.ccr.gov.
