Description
The Regional Procurement Support Office intends to issue a solicitation for Perimeter Security Enhancements at the U.S. Embassy London, Great Britain. The scope of work requires the construction of new vehicular and pedestrian security measures on all four sides of the Embassy compound, including demolishing of, and construction of a new perimeter fence, vehicular access control gates and bollards, pedestrian pavilions and gateways, a new guard booth, and new landscape site paving and planting on all four sides of the building. Construction costs are estimated to range between U.S.$5,000,000 and U.S.$10,000,000, and this solicitation is subject to Section 11 of the Foreign Service Buildings Act of 1926, as amended (22 U.S.C 302). Award of the resulting contract will be made to the technically acceptable, responsible offeror with the lowest evaluated price. Issuance of the subject solicitation is estimated to occur not later than August 2, 2005. A Pre-Proposal Conference and Site Visit is scheduled to be held at the American Embassy, London, on Wednesday, August 10, 2005. (Note: There is no provision for reimbursement of travel expenses or proposal costs.). The closing date for receipt of proposals is September 6, 2005 and the contract is expected to be awarded shortly thereafter. Solicitation packages will be issued to firms providing written notice of their interest to RPSO, not later than August 1, 2005, to the attention of Werner Guss at the above Fax number or e-mail address. Please do not telephone. Requests for a copy of the solicitation shall include the following information: Name of Firm, Name of Requestor, Telephone and Fax Numbers, Email Address of Point of Contact and Complete Physical and Mailing Address of Firm, and state the solicitation number SGE500-05-R-1063 in the subject line. The solicitation package, all communication, correspondence and documentation will be in the English language only. Potential contractors shall be in possession of all required permits and licenses to perform general construction work in Great Britain. This requirement is being competed utilizing full and open competition procedures. Solicitation and award will be subject to the laws and regulations of the United States of America.
