Description

The work of this Request for Quotation (RFQ) consists of furnishing all labor, equipment and material as needed to construct approximately 2,323 linear feet of woven wire elk containment fencing at Point Reyes National Seashore, Marin County, CA. Fence posts will be set at 10 ft spacing and will be comprised of 7-8" x 12' pressure-treated wooden posts. Posts will be solidly set in the ground to allow for a total fence height above ground of 8 feet. Fencing will consist of two courses of 4" x 6" woven sheep fencing with a top strand of smooth wire set at a height of 7.5'. All staples for attaching wire to wood posts will be hot-dipped galvanized. Double "H" braces (3 ea) will be contracted at all corners and turns. A single "H" brace will be required at the terminus of the fence at the Pacific Ocean. "H" brace materials will be the same as line fence materials. The fence location is hilly along a ranch road with a short portion running through open pasture. The work site is accessible through the paved highway through an open field. Vehicle access along the old ranch road is available from late summer to fall of the year. A visit to the job site to review actual conditions is highly recommended. The RFQ will include an Alternate Fence line for consideration and an Option to install an 8 ft wide gate in an existing portion of the containment fence. Work is expected to be completed within 45 days after issuance of a Notice to Proceed. The estimated price range is between $25,000 and $100,000. The RFQ will be available via electronic commerce only and may be accessed on/about July 26, 2005 at http://www.fedbizopps.gov or directly through the DOI website at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. The due date for receipt of quotations will be 2-3 weeks after issuance. The contractor is responsible for periodically checking the website for any Amendments that may be issued prior to the closing date of the RFQ. At least 3 references from similar work projects will be required to be submitted along with the cost quote. This acquisition is unrestricted. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which, if timely received, will be considered.
