- MARKET RESEARCH/REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS. ? The Marine Corps Systems Command is conducting a survey of potential sources for a single Craft that can provide an open water Safety platform for waterborne operations. The request is for off the shelf systems that can be effectively utilized for all waterborne operations. System development should be complete and ready for production integration in FY 2006. Notional craft characteristics are small craft (25-30 ft long, approximately a 9 ft beam) and outboard engine powered. The objective of the craft is to increase waterborne safety and provide uniformity and logistics throughout the fleet for waterborne training. Additional craft characteristics are as follows: (1) Hull cut-away-Provides easy access to casualties and personnel in the water; (2) Deck Space-6 personnel, 2 casualties minimum, Allow treatment of casualties during transport (or transport surge passengers from disabled rai! d craft); (3) Speed-30+ knots, Ability to obtain plane speed on one engine; (4) Hull Type-Aluminum Hull 5086 (or better) or Aluminum Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB), If RHIB, removable-type inflatable collar with multiple chambers equipped with over-pressure and equilibrium valve devices, collar requested to have additional tube protection along with lacing cuff and inboard life lines, Dolphin door (40-inches minimum), If RHIB, power inflator, Flush deck tie-downs, Tow post, Bow door (electric), Rope guard with fairlead, Stowage, If bolsters, incorporate storage space, Anchor package, Fuel tank(s), Operate in sea states one through three; (5) Engine Type- Dual outboard engines (150 horse power each minimum), Counter rotation, Stainless steel propellers (not preferred) OR-- Pump-jet configuration (preferred) to eliminate open prop hazard; (6) Electronic Accessories-Marine Band VHF Radio, Radar System (GPS/ Chart Plotter), Depth Sounder, ICOM hailer with speaker, EPIRB (Emer! gency Position Indicator Radio Beacon), All Military radios will be GFE; (7) Size Range- Street Legal, not to exceed road transport dimensions with trailer; (8) Range-200 nautical miles; (9) Hull Color- Coloration easily recognizable as a safety craft; (10) Supporting Equipment: Heated/ AC Coxswain?s cabin, Both front and rear entrance to cabin (ability to move patient either way), Remote spotlight, Battery maintenance free, Battery switch, Circuit panel, electric with bilge/horn, Deck lighting, Fire extinguisher, Full instrumentation package, Hydraulic twin cylinder steering, Fluxgate Compass, Two 12-volt adapter plugs; (11) Additional- Seats (bucket for coxswain and behind coxswain) Left side of cabin devoted to fit two stretchers size (84?L, 24? W, 8? H) Can be stacked, but allow room to work on patient; (12) Trailer-Dual axle aluminum trailer with 12-volt light system, Pintle eye frame conversion, Light bar with adapter for Marine Corps light system; (13) Warranty- Exten! ded warranty. Please include the willingness of the company to participate in demonstration(s) of their product. MARCORSYSCOM will not pay or provide reimbursement for any costs incurred in the preparation of delivery of the request information. Industry firms capable of providing the required systems, in whole, are invited to submit a response to this notice. MARCORSYSCOM anticipates using the GSA schedule for this opportunity although interested parties not on the GSA schedule are encouraged to participate. Firms should identify/submit a copy of their GSA schedule, if applicable. Firms should also include literature, brochures, price lists, and capabilities summaries directly addressing their ability to meet the aforementioned needs.
