Description
The purpose of this Amendment is answer questions as follows: What is the 2-A/ Square Cap bar thickness? Cap square thickness is 1/2". What is the width of 7-A/ Axel Tree Band stock? Width of Axel tree band stock is 1" x 1/8". Does the Training loop get screw threads on its 1/2" diameter ends? No screw threads on the training loops are needed. We noticed in reference to some of the items; Tackle bolt, Cap Sq. Bolt, Nut training loop, etc. that do not have threads? Please let us know if any of the items requested have any external or internal threads. The prints do not show any. No threads are needed. What are the lengths and quantities for the 86- Item Number 5B/ Various Bolts? There are no lengths because the shafts are not included. Should the various items with the name bolt in their name have threads cut on their shanks? The items I am asking about are: Chin Bolt, Side Tackle Bolt, Cap Square Bolt, Train Tackle Bolt/Transporting Bolt, the Item Number 5B/Various Bolts, Breeching and Shackle Pin? What length should the threads be? From the nut pictured it appears to be a 1-8 thread. No threads are requested at this time. Should the training loop have threads on its 1/2 diameter ends? Training loops do not have threads. What thickness is the angle (Item Numbers 6B & 6C)? Does the original angle have a sharp outer corner (means it was a rolled profile) or a radiused outer corner (means it was hand formed)? Do the angles need any mounting holes in them? Angle thickness is 1/8" with sharp outside corner. No holes at this time. Is there any forging dies or tooling available for the forging solicitation in order to expedite production or would new tooling have to be made? There are no forging dies or tooling available to expedite production other than the Government-Furnished samples. What would be required to pass inspection? Are there any specifications for surface, dimensions, quality of forgings or castings? Inspection will be based on the surface texture of the Government-Furnished Samples provided and the specifications contained in the solicitation. For item 1, we can bid based on a commonly used silicone bronze alloy we can quote based on a grade specified by you. 876 silicon bronze or equivalent performance is acceptable. For item 2, although we have the drawings and photos as provided with the solicitation package, it would help us greatly to have the actual part weights in estimating material and process costs. Weights of components in low carbon steel follow listed by Part Number, Item, and Weight: 1-A Cap Square, Left (approximately 16.5lbs.), 1-A Cap Square, Right (approximately 16.5#), 2-A Cap Square, Left (approximately 18.5lbs), 2-A Cap Square, Right (approximately 18.5#), 4-B Cap Square Key (approximately .5lbs.), 3-A Chin Bolt (approximately 2.0#), 4-A Cap Square Bolt (approximately 1.5lbs.), 6-B Angle, Top of Cheek (approximately .5#), 6-C Angle, Base of Cheek (approximately 1.25lbs.), 6-A Training Loops (approximately 2.0#), 4-C Training Loop Plates (approximately .125lbs.), 4-D Training Loop Plates (approximately .25#), 3-B Side Tackle Bolt w/ eye (approximately 3.5lbs.), 5-A Train Tackle Bolts and Transporting Bolts w/ eye (approximately 2.0 lbs), 10-A Transporting Bolts (approximately 4.5 lbs.), 7-B Truck Ties/ Trucks (approximately 2.5 lbs.), 7-A Axel Tree Band (approximately .5 lbs.), 8-A Lynch Pin (approximately 1.0 lbs.), 8-B Lynch Pin Washer (approximately .5 lbs.), 9-A Breeching Shackle (approximately 3.5 lbs.), 9-A Breeching Shackle Pin (approximately 1.0 lbs.), 5-B Inner Axel Tree, Bed, Arch, Transom Bolt (approximately 1.0 lbs.), 5-CNut (approximately 1.5 lbs.)
