- Description
- USDA, APHIS, VS, CEAH has a requirement for swine industry expertise to supplement the National Animal Health Monitoring System (NAHMS) program unit to validate and analyze data from the first two years of the Collaboration in Animal Health and Food Safety Epidemiology (CAHFSE) and begin study design revision based on the findings. A veterinarian with extensive swine expertise will lead the evaluation/review of data, coordinate the analysis of data, and other key deliverables. The specific goals of the work with the CAHFSE program are to 1) validate the data collected in preparation for summarization as outlined in the CAHFSE program objectives and 2) to determine if changes are indicated in the study design (data collection methods/instruments, sample collection protocols, data storage processes). The primary task is to work with the CEAH NAHMS unit to evaluate the collected data, complete a descriptive analysis and suggest modifications to the current design to enhance the CAHFSE program for a second two year window of data collection. Specific tasks for the consultant are: Review of existing CAFHSE data through hardcopy questionnaires, electronic datasets, and data summary tables. Directing further data summaries needed to assure quality datasets (free of data entry errors, free of identifiable data inconsistencies) for subsequent analysis. Directing descriptive summarization of the CAHFSE data primarily to meet the food safety objectives of CAHFSE. Reviewing written summaries of the findings from the CAHFSE program for accuracy and appropriate interpretation. Providing suggestions for improvement in the study design (data/sample collection methodology, data collection instruments) to facilitate the CAHFSE program meeting its objectives. Period of performance for this requirement is approximately 2 months. Any interested parties shall provide information on their capabilities and past work experience to Tamara Lanier at Tamara.M.Lanier.aphis.usda.gov. Current phone number is 970-494-7179. Funding for this requirement is approximately $18,000.
