Description
The Bureau of Reclamation has a requirement for Environmental Consulting services to conduct a specialized technical review of soils exposed in trenches across the Busted Boiler fault for Ridgeway Dam. The review will consist of two parts: a field review and preparation of a letter report on the field descriptions and geologic interpretation of the soil profiles, especially the estimated ages and timing constraints indicated by soil profile development. Firms that are interested in this procurement must have knowledge of the following areas and must submit their qualifications by e-mail. (1) Studied soils on Quaternary deposits similar to those exposed in the trenches along the Busted Boiler fault. (2) Experience interpreting geologic deposits associated with potential tectonic faults that were studied as part of seismic and geologic hazard assessments. (3) A detailed knowledge of the properties and development rates of soils on geologic deposits and in geomorphic settings similar to those near the Busted Boiler fault. (4) Experienced in the problems associated with interpreting ages from soil development, especially those associated with soils on loess, alluvium, and bedrock in southwestern Colorado. Firms that believe they can provide the required services described above are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer. Those firms believing they can provide similar service must provide supporting evidence that they can furnish the services identified above in sufficient detail to demonstrate the respondent's ability to meet the stated requirements. The Government will consider all responses received within 3 days of the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Inquiries will only be accepted by e-mail at lhayes@do.usbr.gov. Responses should include the firm's Dun and Bradstreet number (DUNS) and Tax Identification Number (TIN). Firms should identify themselves as either small business, or other than small business, in accordance with the size standard for North America Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code 541620 which is $6 Million per year averaged over last 3 years.
