- Description of the work: Principal components of the work include modifying existing rotating exciters, and furnishing and installing new excitation systems. Remove and dispose of field breakers, voltage regulators and associated equipment, power potential transformers, semiconductor-controlled output bridges, control cabling, and 480-volt supply from station service power source. Modify existing rotating exciters to electrically isolate them from the excitation system. Furnish and install new excitation systems, including power potential transformers with high-side interrupter switches and fuses, silicon-controlled rectifiersbridges, voltage regulator, excitation power circuit breakers, control cablging, transducers, and control board instrumentation. Provide field testing of new equipment. Provide training for operation and maintenance of new excitation equipment. The estimated range of this project is $1,000,000-$5,000,000. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) code is 238210; the Product and Service Code is Z234; the Size Standard is $12 million. Solicitation packages are anticipated to be issued on or around August 8, 2005. This is a Request For Proposal (RFP) (with technical proposal evaluations). Offers are tentatively due on or around September 7, 2005, at the Bureau of Reclamation, Great Plains Regional Office, 316 North 26th Street, Room 2035, Billings, Montana 59101. There is no charge for the first copy of the solicitation package; additional sets will be provided upon receipt of money order, cashier's check, or certified bank check in the amount of $9.00 per each set.
