Description

Transportation and economic analysis services to accomplish a ?New Cargoes/New Vessels? study. The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and Transport Canada are currently investigating the future infrastructure needs of the Great Lakes/St. Lawrence Seaway (GLSLS) System to determine whether it is fulfilling its potential, and whether there are other roles that it might play as part of the North American transportation system. A key area of research is an evaluation of the GLSLS System?s role as part of the integrated transportation network, and its potential for incorporating new cargoes and new vessels into future economic viability and efficiency. The report resulting from this study will be used as part of the overall assessment. Such a study would help develop approaches as to how the GLSLS System might operate in the future. The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
