Description

The RDECOM Acquisition Center- Edgewood Area intends to negotiate with Constellation Technology Corporation, 7787 Bryan Dairy Rd, Seminole, FL, for the procurement of a proprietary multiplex, microarray confirmation sensor for biological warfare agen t identification in the Joint Biological Point Detection System (JBPDS). Market research has indicated that no other viable sources for this requirement presently exist. The confirmation sensor shall be able to rapidly identify the presence of a biological threat with an objective P(id) of 0.98 and P(fid) of less than 0.02 at an 80% confidence, and shall be capable of performing microarray, multiplexed confirmation analysis of at least 10 potential biological threat aerosols. The assay medium (e.g. cartridg e) will be reusable at least 10 times unless a positive result develops. The confirmation sensor will be self-contained yet capable of interfacing with an automated fluid transfer system. The sensor shall be capable of accepting commands from the JBPDS. Co nfirmation sensor will be modular and field replaceable (in MOPP IV), and its fluidics and software will be compatible with the JBPDS system. Confirmation sensor must be shown to be maintainable, supportable, and reliable. NUMBERED NOTE 22.
