Description

Notice of availability of a prospectus for solicitation of proposals for the operation of fixed wing air transportation services from either Santa Barbara or Ventura County airports, to Santa Rosa Island, Channel Islands National Park, California. This business opportunity includes assignment of a non-exclusive landing strip at Becher's Bay located on Santa Rosa Island. Flight time is approximately half an hour. Any Offeror that is selected as the new concessioner is not obliged to purchase the personal property utilized by the existing concessioner in its operations. The existing concession contract between the National Park Service and the existing concession expires on December 31, 2005. The Director, pursuant to 36 CFR Part 51, has determined that the existing concessioner is a preferred Offeror for this contract because the first year sales are projected to be less than $500,000. One contract will be issued for this commercial service. The length of the new contract will be for ten (10) years. Any offer, including that of the existing concessioner, must be received by the Concessions Program Manager, National Park Service, Pacific West Region, 1111 Jackson Street, Suite 700, Oakland, CA 94607 no later than sixty-five (65) days after the date of publication of this notice in order to be evaluated and considered for the award of a concession contract. The Prospectus will be issued July 19, 2005, for a 65-day response period under the terms described in the Prospectus, with proposals due on September 22, 2005, no later than 4:00 p.m. There is a printing cost recovery charge of $50 per copy to be delivered via Federal Express or $40 per copy if picked up in person. Checks or money orders (no cash accepted) must be payable to the National Park Service; and you must include a business address and telephone number (no post office box) to receive a Federal Express package.
