Description
The EPA office of intends to award a sole source contract with Thomson Scientific, Philadelphia, PA 19104, for Internet access to Web of Science bibliographic database. This effort will include four option years. The base/award year will include the following items: 2005 Data Fee for Science Citation Index Expanded via Web of Science 2005 Technology Fee for 8 simultaneous users for Web of Science 10 years back files to Science Citation Index Expanded via Web of Science (1995-2004) Access to MEDLINE database via Web of Science included Access to current year Journal Citation Reports Science Edition (2004 available in 2005) included Options to increase numbers of users in other geographical locations Thomson Scientific is the only source that possesses the resources and in-depth technical knowledge and technical data necessary to provide these services within the time required to meet the EPA?s requirements. Interested parties, who feel they can provide the products/services that can meet the requirements listed below, can submit technical documentation to establish the potential for complying with the following requirements: Provide seamless access to current and retrospective multidisciplinary information from prestigious, high impact research journals. Search method that enables user to navigate backward, forward, and through the literature, searching all disciplines and time spans to uncover all information relevant to their research. Provide a database that covers all years for high impact research journals dating back to 1945 and back files can be purchased incrementally (as needed). Include additional content and search capability of MEDLINE, the world?s premier biomedical database. Provide corrections to mis-cited references and references to the appropriate record ensures access to the most accurate information available. The NAICS No. 511140 applies with a size standard of 500 employees. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Response to this synopsis must be made in writing. Submit responses to US Environmental Protection Agency, RTP Procurement Operations Division (E105-02), Attn: Kimberly N. Evans, Research Triangle Park, NC 27711 for consideration by the Agency. A determination by the EPA not to compete this proposed contract based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
