Description
REQUIREMENTS FOR MICROWAVE MEASUREMENT SYSTEM This is an amendment to the combined synopsis/solicitation which superseded the Presolicitation Notice posted on 20 June 2005, FA7000-05-T-0121, and is for commercial items or services prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The purpose of this amendment is to respond to the following questions: 1. We are unclear if the "common pedestal/turntable" located at the intersection is portable and is also the "pedestal" at the end of the add-on chamber, or if the "pedestal" is a separate piece of equipment. ANSWER: The requirements are for a 3-D positioner at the common intersection of the two chamber sections. The variable-height antenna mast is another piece of required equipment at the opposite end of the longest chamber section. USAFA already has a single axis positioner that must be mounted to the floor at the end of the “add-on” section of the chamber. 2. Considering the intended use, the "common pedestal/turntable" might be just a raised turntable, and the "pedestal" could be the "multi-axis positioner for 3-dimensional antenna-pattern measurements". ANSWER: See answer to Question 1. 3. For both the "common pedestal/turntable" and the "multi-axis positioner for 3-dimensional antenna-pattern measurements", required load capacities are needed. ANSWER: Load limit is 20 pounds minimum. 4. Please better define the microwave measurement system. Is there any existing equipment that needs to be integrated into this system? ANSWER: The following equipment must be integrated into the system: FR 8502 Positioner Programmer/controller FR 959 Signal Distribution Unit FR 8601A Power Amplifier HP 8510C Network Analyzer HP 8511 Frequency Converter HP 8514B S-parameter Test Set HP 8349B Microwave Amplifier HP 11713A Attenuator/Switch Driver HP 83621A Synthesized Sweeper 5. Please give us a detailed description of what is to be accomplished in this facility. What EMC or Antenna measurement standards are to be met? ANSWER: Annotated in the SOW. 6. Do you want to measure Radio Patterns or are you trying to measure EMC? ANSWER: Not sure what “Radio Patterns” refers to. If antenna patterns is meant, then the answer is “yes. The answer to EMC measurements is also “yes”. 7. Do you have an existing capability that you are trying to duplicate? If so please describe this for us. ANSWER: No existing capability duplication. Offers must be received NLT Noon, Mountain Daylight Savings Time, 22 July 2005. Quotes can be emailed to debra.mccraw@usafa.af.mil or faxed to Debra McCraw at 719-333-9103. Offers received after this date and time will be considered late in accordance with 52.212-1(f) and will not be evaluated. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (19-JUL-2005); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
