- Description
- Potential Sources Sought. The U. S. Coast Guard has a requirement for the overhaul of our 16 cylinder Marine Diesel Engine(s). Model #Paxman Valenta 1600RP200M, these engines are used in support of the U. S. Coast Guards 110? Island Class Patrol Boats. The overhaul consists primarily of disassembly, reassembly, dyno test, paint, preserve, package and provide nationwide warranty support. The government intends to issue a contract for a base year and four option years. The government is seeking qualified sources that can provide this service. It is the government's belief that only MAN B&W, the Original Equipment Manufacturer, can provide said services. However, other potential sources having the expertise and required capabilities and the ability to purchase OEM parts can submit such data discussing the same in duplicate within fifteen (15) days from the date of this announcement. No cost or pricing data is required. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). The government does not intend to pay for the information solicited. Responses must be concise and be specifically directed to the requirement mentioned above. Concerns that respond to the notice must fully demonstrate their capabilities to meet the requirements. The following information must be provided to evaluate the acceptability of the overhaul services: Complete and current data to demonstrate 1) that the potential source has the capability to perform said repair services, 2) that the offered parts have been satisfactorily manufactured by the OEM, and 3) that the potential source has the ability to purchase parts from the OEM on a continuing basis. Adequately, detailed data by which to evaluate the capabilities should be sent to Kelly Wyatt, Contract Specialist, at the address or email address listed within this notice.
