Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New York District intends to issue an Invitation of Bids (IFB) for the award of a firm-fixed contract for the Arthur Kill Channel, Salt Marsh Mitigation Project, at Brooklyn Union Gas (BUG) Staten Island, NY. The Bro oklyn Union Gas project consist of approximately 9acres of grading and replanting and the removal of approximately 32,200 cubic yards of material. The scope of work will consist of the removal of existing phragmites, removal of wrack and debris, removal a nd disposal of soils and regrading of the marsh surface to achieve elevations that are more favorable to the growth of desirable species (such as various Spartina Alterniflora), limited placement of clean soil and replanting of native wetland species. It w ill be imperative that while working in the sites that the plant preservation areas be avoided. The estimated price range for this project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The selected contractor must complete the work no later than 260 calendar days from the receipt of the Notice to Proceed. This project is being solicited as a SMALL BUS INESS SET-ASIDE procurement. The applicable NAICS Code is 562910 with a small business size standard of 500 Employees. The media selected for the issuance of solicitations and amendments shall solely be at the discretion of the Government; accordingly, the media utilized for this project are the Internet and CD-ROM. Paper copies of this solicitation, and amendments, if any, will not be available or issued. Project specification files and drawings are portable document files (PDF) and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Minimum system requirements are Pentium-based personal computer, Microsoft W indows 95 or greater, and 32 MB application RAM. A registration page is attached to the web site, and prospective bidders are required to register to receive notice of any amendments and or addenda that may be issued to the solicitation. Utilization of the internet is the preferred method, however CDs will be available upon written request stating the solicitation number, or project name, complete company name and street address (we will not deliver to P.O. Boxes), telephone and facsimile number (including area codes). Make check or money order payable in the amount of $10.00 to USAED, NY. Solicitation documents for this construction effort will be available on or about 04 Aug 2005. The Bid opening date will be on or about 04 September 2005 at 2:00 P.M.
