- Description
- This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Santa Cruz Lab is conducting research on juvenile salmon in the coastal ocean between San Francisco and Point Arena, California. NMFS will be catching juvenile salmon with a pelagic rope trawl, sampling plankton with towed plankton ?bongo? nets, and measuring ocean conditions such as temperature, salinity, and chlorophyll using a CTD and attached sensors. The goal of this project is to measure salmon energy reserves, to identify important items in the diet of juvenile salmon, to quantify the distribution and abundance of food resources, to assess how ocean variability effects growth and energy status, and to aid the development of conservation and management plans for Federal ESA-listed salmon populations. A midwater trawler is needed for 6-8 days of charter in September or October, 2005. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency Any potential vendor must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration at www.ccr.gov in order to be eligible for award
