Description

This is a notice of intent to issue an order to Norsat International, Inc., 300-4401 Still Creek Drive, Burnaby BC, on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements, 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1). The proposed procurement is for five (5) each, Newslink Satellite uplink systems, to include installation, maintenance, and training, which are used around the world to send information via satellite to central agencies located in the U.S. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. A determination by the Government not to compet e this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Norsa t is the developer and sole provider of their proprietary system. These systems and associated software products are unique in the industry and are used throughout the U.S. Army for data and television with two way audio and to integrate with receivers in Atlanta, GA.
