Description
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Center for Neutron Research, has a requirement a quantity of eight (8) (4 pair) Neutron Soller Collimators to control the divergence of neutron beams propagating from the sample to a multi-channel detection system. In addition, this requirement includes the option to purchase 32 (16 pair) additional collimators. The base award shall be for eight (8) collimators, however, the Contractor shall provide pricing for the 32 additional collimators. NIST shall have the option to purchase the additional collimators not later than one year from the date of award. Delivery shall be FOB DESTINATION and shall be completed not later than four (4) months from the date of award. This requirement is being procured using Simplified Acquisition Procedures utilizing full & open competition. The NAICS code for this requirement is 334516 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. The competitive Request for Quotation (RFQ), specifications, RFQ amendments, and all questions and answers related to this procurement shall be made available via the Internet at HTTP://WWW.FEDBIZOPPS.GOV under RFQ number SB1341-05-Q-0865. The RFQ is anticipated for release to the vendor community on or about July 27, 2005, and will only be available via the Internet at the above web site. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the web site. Interested parties must respond to the RFQ in order to be considered for award of any resultant contract. No written solicitation document is available, telephone requests shall not be honored, and no bidders list shall be maintained.
