Description
The US Air Force (USAF) Air Warfare Battlelab (AWB) is exploring commercial/government off-the-shelf (COTS/GOTS) technologies that will reduce the mobility footprint and update the current inventory with modern technology in the field of cabin pressure/leakage testers. Current Air Force testers are four-wheeled, self-contained, towable units that have been in the Air Force inventory since the early 1950s. These units are large and require a large mobility footprint to deploy. This technology would be used by all Air Force aircraft maintenance units as an integrated part of their aircraft maintenance procedures, whether they are deployed or operating from home station. Current testers have an operating temperature range of -25? to 125? F and a storage range of -80? to 160? F. Also testers are required to withstand exposure to harsh weather environments to include, but not limited to, sand, rain, snow and freezing rain. One objective of this market survey is to determine to what extent a Next Generation Cabin Pressure Tester (NGCPT) can meet or exceed the environmental constraints imposed on today?s legacy testers. Prospective vendors responding to this BAA should note that NGCPTs should meet the following characteristics: Output flow 10 to 400 standard cubic feet per minute (SCFM), Cabin pressure 2 to 12.5 pounds per square inch gauge (PSIG), Canopy seal flow and pressure 1 cubic foot per minute (CFM) at 65 pounds per square inch (PSI), Test medium of compressed air. Additionally, the AWB is looking for NGCPTs that use an external air source, therefore negating the need for an operational power source. This feature will greatly reduce the mobility footprint. NOTICE TO FOREIGN OFFERORS: Foreign or foreign-owned offerors are advised that their participation is subject to foreign disclosure review procedures and restrictions that could preclude their participation in this announcement.
