Description
This amendment changes the response date for this Market Survery to August 12th 2005. Amendment 1 Date Issued: 25 July 2005 Closing Date and Time: 12 August 2005 1630 Hours (Local Time) 81MM Illuminating Mortar Cartridge Load Assemble and Pack (LAP) The Office of the Product Manager for Combat Ammunition Systems is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources capable of Load Assemble and Pack (LAP) of fielded and/or developed 81mm Illuminating Mortar cartridges. Current production is to Government TDP. Potential candidates must have the production capability to LAP a combination of 10,000 M816 Infrared (IR) and M853A1 Visible Light (VL) cartridges per month with a total annual production of 100,000. Major components to be provided as GFM will be body tube assembly, tail cone, candle, parachute, fin, fuze, ignition system and packaging. The Government is interested only in those potential offerors who have specific knowledge in this subject matter and have experience and the ability, to become a qualified producer by July 2006. Potential offerors shall submit a white paper, not to exceed ten pages describing current/planned production facilities and processes. The paper must include a schedule to prove this process in the required timeframe. Potential offeror must also describe how the design supports a qualification program to test this design by July 2006. A detailed process map of the Load, Assemble and Pack process is required which identifies critical processes. Anticipated contract award date is January 2006. This is a sources sought notice for planning purposes only. This is not a solicitation and does not obligate the Government to issue a solicitation. The Government will not pay for any information submitted under this announcement.
