Description: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District in Portland, Oregon, intends to solicit and award a Sole Source Firm-Fixed Price contract to GE-Hydro of Canada to design, fabricate and deliver to John Day Dam one thrust bearing runner, also refer red to as the rotating ring, for the main unit generators. Currently installed main units were manufactured by GE-Hydro of Canada, who holds proprietary information related to the original design specifications, nominal size, tolerances, fits and surface textures required to correctly manufacture the thrust runner. The thrust bearing runner will be used as a spare and must fit the thrust collars of all. This synopsis is for commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Part 12, 13.5, and the most recent FAC, supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The reference number is W9127N-05-Q-0060. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 333613 with a small business size stand ard of 500 employees.
