Description

The Bureau of Reclamation, Mid-Pacific Region intends to issue an Invitation for Bid for a firm-fixed price construction contract for gate repairs at Folsom Dam, located approximately 2 miles north of the City of Folsom in Sacramento County, California. The principal components of the work to be performed under the specifications include the following: Coating repairs of several areas along downstream spillway gate members; replacing bottom seals on two gates (#2 & #3); removing existing bottom seal clamp bar from one gate (#2), and F&I new stainless steel clamp bar; removing existing bottom seal bolts from two gates (#2 & #3), and F&I new stainless steel bolts; removing existing bottom seal nuts from all eight gates, and F&I new stainless steel nuts; applying watertight thread sealant to bottom seal bolts for all 8 gates; recoating existing side seal nuts for one gate (#6); removing existing safety chain bolt snap hooks, and F&I new snap hooks and loops; inspecting existing fall protection safety rails for joint alignment and realigning all joints requiring correction; designing, furnishing, and installing a safety closure between the downstream end of the gate catwalks and trunnion tie beams; recoating existing gate hoist enclosures, handrailing, and other deck metalwork; performing repairs on spillway bridge supports; providing temporary gate supports during construction. All work required to be performed and completed within 365 calendar days from the date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 237990 and the related small business size standard in dollars is $28.5. The estimated cost of this project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. This is an unrestricted requirement and all offers from responsible concerns will be considered. FAR Clause 52.219-4 "Notice of Price Evaluation Preference for HUBZone Small Business Concerns" applies to this requirement. Solicitation 05SI201056 will be posted at http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or about August 9, 2005. The estimated date for receipt of bids is September 8, 2005. This requirement will require 100% performance and payment bonds. Details concerning the site visit and how to register will be located in Section L of the solicitation. The solicitation and specifications must be downloaded at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. No paper copy of this solicitation will be distributed with the exception of the drawings. You must register on the Bidder's Mailing List to receive the drawings. Prospective contractors must be registered prior to award. Lack of registration in the CCR and ORCA database will make an offeror ineligible for award.
