Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award, on a sole source basis, a purchase order to Sole Proprietor, Barbara V. Marin, PhD, 1515 Country Squire Ct., Decatur, GA 30033. The authority for this sole source is FAR 13.106-1. SCOPE: As an expert in violence prevention research in communities of color, and under the direction of the Branch Chief of the Prevention Development and Evaluation Branch (PDEB), the vendor will pilot and provide advice regarding the Postdoctoral Fellowship on Violence in Communities of Color through the following activities: a) direct the development of each recent doctoral graduate?s program of research at CDC by identifying and refining their research ideas; b) Identify additional individuals both within CDC and other public and private entities who could be potential violence prevention resources; c) identify relevant literature and theoretical models for follow-up by the fellows; and d) identify research priorities as needed. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by responding to the requirement and give written notice to the Contracting Officer / Specialist within 15 calendar days from the date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining to conduct a competitive procurement.
