- A. This amendment is issued to answer questions received from potential offerors. Question 1. Is it a total of 4 servers or is it 4 file servers in addition to the Exchange servers? Answer It is a total of 4 servers including the Exchange server. Question 2. Please provide a list of current applications running on the servers. Answer The current applications that run on our servers are: Microsoft Office XP, Outlook Client, Norton Antivirus, Attachmate Extra, WordPerfect, Adobe Acrobat Question 3. Are cluster services run on any of the servers? Answer Cluster services do not run on any of the servers. Question 4. Will the tape back up units be directly attached to the server or are they SAN attached? Answer The tape back up units are directly attached to the server. Question 5. Please provide a listing of make and model of the current servers. Answer Current servers are: Dell PowerEdge 2400 (2), Dell 4400, and Dell 2650 One 2400 is a domain controller and houses printing software. The 2650 is the Exchange server. The 4400 contains files and shares. The other 2400 is a terminal server ? want to move Norton Antivirus to it. Question 6. Are servers under current warranty contract, if so what are the service level agreements? Answer The Dell 2650 is under warranty. The service level agreement is Gold Premiere. Question 7. Will the enterprise work need to be performed after hours and on weekends to minimize impact to the users? Answer The work needs to be performed Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 4:30 pm Question 8. Are the Exchange servers SAN attached or is the data storage on the internal drives? Answer Data storage is on the internal drives. Question 9. How many users per server? Answer There are 54 users per server. Question 10.How many mailboxes per server? Answer There are 54 mailboxes per server. Question 11.In the RFP there are references to ?new server? at paragraph E, item 3 and ?new external tape backup device? at paragraph E, item 8. Are these to be quoted and if so, what are the specifications for these items? Answer The offeror shall recommend the hardware and software requirements to support the requirements of this solicitation. OIG will procure and furnish all hardware and software necessary for this contract. Question 12.How many seats are there? Answer There are 56 seats. Question 13.Is current legacy hardware being replaced? Answer 1 unit ? the Dell Dimension 450 which currently houses Symantec System Center (Norton Antivirus) Question 14.Is OIG purchasing licenses/software from us, or will they provide? Answer The OIG will be purchasing licenses/software from the appropriate vendor. Question 15.Is there data migration, and if so how many estimated gigabytes of data per user? Answer We are unable to answer this question at this time. Question 16.How many desktop applications to be installed, if so what is the breakdown between GOTS/COTS? (Government-off-the-shelf/commercial-off-the-shelf) Answer We anticipate approximately 6 applications being installed on a desktop. All of the applications are COTS. (See Question 2 of this amendment.) Question 17.How many printers, networked or standalone? Answer We anticipate approximately 7 printers all networked. Question 18.Will OIG require any type data wipe? Answer OIG will not require any type data wipe. Question 19.Does OIG already have a current image, and are we loading in factory? Answer The OIG does not have a current image. Question 20.Would OIG like asset tagging and asset recovery services as optional services? Answer The OIG would not be interested in asset tagging and asset recovery services. Question 21.Does RRB currently have the equipment to be installed? Does the solicitation include equipment provisioning? Will RRB own the equipment or lease? Answer The OIG currently has most of the equipment (4 servers) already installed. We plan to purchase one additional server and exchange it with one of the existing servers. All of the equipment is owned by the OIG. Question 22.Does the work include staging the server equipment, setting the servers in place, loading the OS, or loading the OS and applications? Answer The server equipment is presently installed. This solicitation requires upgrading the OS from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003. It also requires upgrading client workstations to Windows XP, the Antivirus to version 10.0, the Exchange server to Exchange 2003, and client software from Microsoft Office XP to Microsoft Office 2003. More details can be found in the Statement of Work. Question 23.The one year maintenance requirement, is it 24x7x365 with on-site SLAs? Answer The maintenance is a one-year optional requirement and should include the cost associated with the following response times: 1. 7 days x 24 hours 2. same day 4 hour response 3. next business day Question 24.Is the successful vendor expected to provide support for the applications? Answer The successful vendor must verify that all required applications have been successfully installed/upgraded as detailed in the SOW. The optional support agreement should address software upgrades. B. The hour and the date specified for receipt of offers is not extended. Proposals shall be submitted by August 8, 2005, 11:00am local time. Offers must acknowledge receipt of this amendment prior to the hour and date specified in the solicitation or as amended by completing and returning 1 copy of this amendment.
