- The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS), Region 6 intends to issue a Request for Quotes (RFQ) for the service of a contractor to provide all equipment, labor, and material required to make revisions to an existing shop building, including but not limited to, demolition of asbestos containing material, revisions to the heating, plumbing and ventilation system(s), attic ventilation and insulation, minor remodeling, and electrical / plumbing system revisions. The building is located on the Ouray National Wildlife Refuge, Uintah County, Utah. All demolition debris shall be legally disposed of, off the refuge, at a legal disposal site. Asbestos containing material (ACM) has been used in the construction of the shop building. The Contractor shall be required to contain, remove, and legally dispose of those asbestos containing materials located in the portion of the building being renovated. All work required to accomplish the asbestos removal shall be in accordance with Division 2 of the specifications, EPA, OSHA, and any other applicable federal, state and local government regulations. The estimated price for this work is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. The North American Industrial Classification Code (NAICS) for this project is 236220; Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. The size standard for this NAICS is $28.5 million. The Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program is applicable to this contracting action (see Federal Acquisition Regulation subpart 19.10). Therefore, this contracting action is being issued unrestricted. The tentative RFQ issue date is August 2, 2005. Note: The RFQ documents will be available electronically on the Department of Interior website at http://ideasec.nbc.gov and also on the Federal Business Opportunities website http://www.fedbizopps.gov. Paper copies will be available, but only upon request. It is incumbent on contractors to check the site periodically for amendments or modifications.
