- The Marine Corps Enterprise Information Technology Services (MCEITS) is an enterprise-level effort to promote the USMC level of IT maturity from its current reactive and uncoordinated infrastructure to an agile, dynamic, and policy-based framework. The resulting efficiencies will improve the fielding, operating, and retiring of IT systems in the USMC. MCEITS will provide the framework to guide the USMC transformation to a net-centric IT environment by providing the following capabilities: Enterprise IT Centers for application hosting, expert staffing for Operations and Maintenance (O&M), Configuration Management of Software, Storage Area Networks and Disaster Recovery Enterprise CORE Software Services to augment Global Information Grid Enterprise Services/Net-Centric Enterprise Services with USMC ?focused capabilities Enterprise Shared Data Environment (ESDE) Enterprise Portal to include access and integration services Enterprise Business and Governance Model that will facilitate the coordination and adjudication of stakeholder requirements across the Marine Corps Information Assurance to protect and defend these valuable warfighter resources The Marine Corps Systems Command, Quantico VA will be hosting an Industry Day to provide an overview of the Marine Corps Enterprise Information Technology Services (MCEITS) opportunities in FY06. There is no requirement to pre-register. Attendance is limited to 1,500 people. Information is as follows: Date: 23 August 2005 Time: 0800-1200 Facility: Little Hall (Base Theater), Quantico, VA 22134 Parking: Available across the street from Little Hall Directions: Marine Corps Base, Quantico is located off of Interstate 95 in Virginia, 36 miles south of Washington D.C. and 20 miles north of Fredericksburg. >From I-95: Take exit 150, Quantico/Triangle. Take route 619 east to the entrance of the base. Marine sentries assist visitors arriving at the base; visitors are issued vehicle passes and given directions to their destination. Proper identification, such as a state driver?s license, is required to get onto base. No security clearance is required to attend Industry Day.
