Description: The maintenance of the existing 30 mile network of roadside fuelbreaks (Figure 1) at Puuanahulu GMA will be conducted via hand-cutting and herbicide spraying for a period of one year. The entire network of existing firebreak and other access roads, will be maintained to the fuelbreak width of no less than 10 meters. Invasive plants such as fountaingrass, and castor bean will be cut to ground level. Tree tobacco will not be cut unless authorized by a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Project coordinator.
