- DESCRIPTION: The U.S. Department of Interior, U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, intends on awarding a sole source contract to Northwest Marine Technology Inc., Shaw Island, Washington for the below listed requirement. This announcement is published as a Sole Source in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 UNDER THE AUTHORITY AND Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition of 41 U.S.C. 253 ? (1), only one source or a limited number of responsible sources are able to satisfy agency requirements. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has a requirement for the acquisition to purchase a Coded Wire Tagging Machine (CWTs), CWT injection equipment, CWT detection equipment which are manufactured and distributed solely by NMT. These systems above NMT tags, injection, detection, and elastomer equipment are protected by several U. S. patents. This sole source award will be made to ensure that all items are compatible and interchangeable to ensure continuity of efforts, analysis, and assessment of programs at the hatchery. No solicitation will be issued. The anticipated award date is August 15, 2005. A determination by the Government not to compete this action based on this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government.
