Description
The United States Coast Guard, Civil Engineering Unit Juneau, Alaska is conducting a market survey to determine if commercial sources are available and capable to replace a 11.5 foot by 15 foot by 9 foot combination walk-in refrigerator and freezer, provide temporary on-site refrigerated and frozen storage for the duration of the project, demolition and disposal of the existing walk-in units and their associated refrigeration equipment, assembly, installation and startup testing of the new walk-ins. The refrigeration system shall be a remote system. The walk-ins shall be National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) compliant. The walk-ins shall include new food storage racks, an insulated raised floor with diamond patterned tread plates, interior ramps, dial type temperature indication, high and low temperature alarms with both audible and visible alarm signals, closure panels or trim at intersections with existing walls, and panels with G-90 galvanized stucco embossed skins with four inches of formed in-place polyurethane insulation. The project site is U.S. Coast Guard Loran Station Shoal Cove, Alaska, a remote Coast Guard facility located in Southeast Alaska about 75 miles from Ketchikan, Alaska. The Shoal Cove facility is accessible only by float plane or boat. From the float plane/boat dock there is an additional travel distance of approximately four miles via a forest service logging road. The Coast Guard will provide meals and lodging for up to 5 contractor personnel charging a small fee of 10 dollars per person per day for meals. The required completion date for this project would be on or before December 31, 2005. Specific Survey Information Desired: a) Name and addresses (including phone numbers and Point of Contacts (POC s) of firms interested in and capable of providing these requirements; b) Catalog and other company literature; c) Any contractor restrictions in meeting the requirement. For example indicate if your operations are limited to certain geographical areas; c) Indicate if your firm is a Small or Large Business, HUBZone and/or 8(a). All responses should be submitted by August 15, 2005 to the Contracting Officer, USCG CEU Juneau, P.O. Box 21747, Juneau, AK 99802-1747. This Request for Information (RFI) is issued for the sole purpose of obtaining information from prospective offerors. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. No solicitation will be issued at this time.
